COMPUTABLE COMPETITION–COOPERATION MECHANISMS · CCM

Can We Learn to Compete and Cooperate Better?

CCM neither asks people to abandon competition nor lets machines adjudicate fairness for them. Starting from real interests, it makes subjects, benefits, costs, third-party burdens, hard boundaries, and unknowns visible, bringing competition and cooperation earlier into a structure that can be challenged, corrected, and recalculated.

START WHERE YOU ARE

Five paths you can enter immediately

You do not need to accept the entire Civilization Leap theory or believe in CCM first. Start with a real problem, technical interest, or objection of your own.

Run it in five minutes

A zero-dependency reference evaluator. Reproduce the public teaching case first, then judge what can actually be computed.

Try the technical demonstration

Bring a real problem

Failed cooperation talks, allocation rules, platform governance, resource burdens, agents affecting others: start with your own real problem.

Test, challenge, improve

No endorsement is required. Recalculate, find counterexamples, implement independently, or identify representation gaps. Failure is also valid evidence.

CCM IN PRACTICE · REAL MA 01

From railway mergers to intelligent logistics networks

Start with the proposed UP–NS merger: at comparable AI capability, what can independent cooperation achieve, what can ownership integration add, and who bears the benefits and costs?

How much waiting can AI remove from a shipment?

Follow a waiting shipment into opportunities for end-to-end logistics cooperation. See how CCM organizes options, evidence, and calculation, then bring your own question or counterexample.

This case is a public research proposal with hypothetical calculations and declared evidence gaps. It has not reached an empirical conclusion about the transaction's net effects.

AI ≠ AGENT ≠ CCM

CCM is not another smarter AI

AI

Good at observing, reasoning, generating, explaining, and calculating.

Agent

Good at planning, using tools, executing tasks, and achieving objectives.

CCM

Asks who receives what, who bears what, which boundaries must hold, what remains unknown, and whether new evidence requires pausing, downgrading, or renegotiating.

A 0.01 DIFFERENCE

Reality did not change. Why did the determination change?

In the shared-equipment teaching case, A and B each save 3, while third party C always loses 0.5. Changing the declared third-party protection ceiling from 0.5 to 0.49 flips the determination from SATISFIED to VIOLATED.

Machines can calculate

0.5 <= 0.49 Any program can answer precisely whether this holds.

Governance must keep asking

Why 0.49? Who has authority to draw that line? Did C, who bears the loss of 0.5, participate? Precise calculation does not establish legitimate rules.

REAL USE

Real progress means solving real problems, not writing more rules

CCM's immediate purpose is to help real subjects see interests, costs, third parties, hard boundaries, UNKNOWN, and irreversible consequences more fully, improving judgment and action. Stars, downloads, and readership can indicate reach; they cannot prove that real problems have been solved.

SEEN → UNDERSTOOD → TRIED → USED → CHALLENGED → ADAPTED → REUSED → EXTENDED

Sharing should lead to cycles of real use. Failures, counterexamples, resistance, and representation gaps also count as real-world evidence.

FROM USE TO CIVILIZATION

Why do these local changes ultimately relate to Civilization Leap?

You do not have to use CCM for the sake of Civilization Leap. Losing a little less, negotiating a better agreement, reducing friction within a team, or preventing an agent from optimizing only one side's interests are sufficient reasons.

But if more subjects start seeing others, third parties, unknowns, and irreversible consequences before acting, and better solutions enter contracts, platform rules, organizational processes, and public institutions, more than individual answers will change: our default way of handling problems will change.

Civilization is not a declaration. It is more people gaining another choice when facing conflicts of interest.
