Reader Dialogue and Shared Inquiry

The questions can continue beyond the page.

Some questions arise from a sentence in the book; others from something you have experienced. Tell us what you did not understand, where the text differs from your experience, or what new fact or idea you would add.

You do not need to read the entire theory or agree with it first. Start with what actually matters to you.

Public discussions and update notifications currently use GitHub topics. Readers who do not use GitHub can still write by email. A separate email subscription is not yet available.

Start with this book and keep asking

As AI Grows More Powerful, How Should We Look After Our Own Interests?

Starting with the choices facing two people who introduce AI into their studio, ask how people decide what they want and how more powerful intelligence forms objectives and purposes.

The book directly advances this proposition:

Replacing self-interest first with self-interest with others first as the underlying logic of human society and of AGI's generation of objectives and purposes is the only path to avoiding irreversible consequences for human social development in the AGI era.

Others first does not mean always putting others ahead of oneself or surrendering the right to refuse. It asks whether, before a purpose forms, the relevant people and shared conditions have entered understanding and can change that purpose.

The book already has eleven questions. This space welcomes yours; it does not require everyone to reach the same answer.

Bring your question

You can quote a single sentence and explain where it stopped you, or describe an actual experience that the book's explanation failed to address.

You can ask without references or specialist training. When specific facts are involved, any source, date, and context you are willing to provide will clarify the discussion. Please first remove personal information unsuitable for publication.

Write to zijunfu@civitas.top. You can use Reader Dialogue in the subject line, followed by the book, chapter, or question you want to discuss.

Your message will not automatically be published or create a subscription. Public quotation will follow the scope you explicitly choose. Without stated publication permission, messages are treated as private.

The button opens your email application; you must still confirm sending there. This page does not send email for you.

View discussions and public responses

A public reader-dialogue entry point is available. You can read others' questions and continue the discussion with your own experiences and reasons.

Discussion is hosted in a public GitHub topic. Reading does not require participation; commenting and subscribing require a GitHub login, and comments appear publicly. This is a supplementary entry point, not a requirement that all readers register or leave familiar platforms. Use email if you cannot access GitHub or prefer not to register.

This entry point is new. The book's eleven prepared questions are not presented as reader submissions, and no invented letters or audience figures are displayed.

Future public responses will retain the source of the question, the relevant passage, and the basis for the answer. Editing correspondence will preserve its meaning. Author responses, reader responses, and AI-assisted organization will be labeled separately.

Receiving a question does not mean it has been answered. Immediate individual replies are not promised. Questions affecting several readers' understanding may be collected and addressed publicly.

There is also a place for those who simply want to keep reading

Updates focus on new articles, substantive answers, and revisions that affect understanding. Not every process adjustment merits a notification.

Read first, then decide whether to subscribe

Important updates have a separate page with dated titles and descriptions. No login or subscription software is needed.

For proactive notifications, use the separate GitHub Reading Updates topic. Log in and click Subscribe. Whether emails are sent depends on your GitHub notification settings. You can Unsubscribe at any time without following the whole repository. Do not leave your email address in public comments.

Go to GitHub to configure notifications →

Opening a topic, reading updates, or copying an RSS address does not subscribe you automatically. This page collects no subscriber email addresses; a separate email subscription is not yet available.

Another subscription option: RSS

If you already use a feed reader, copy the address below and add it there. Without a feed reader, you can read updates on this website or use the GitHub notifications above.

After copying the address, you must add it to a feed reader; copying alone does not enable notifications. You can also select the address and use a long press or copy shortcut. To unsubscribe, remove it from your reader.

The update topic and public discussion are separate. Please place specific questions in reader dialogue first. Maintainers publish important updates to RSS; it does not automatically relay every comment.

Let differing views meet seriously

State the question rather than judging someone's standing to speak. Disagreeing with the central proposition is not grounds for deleting a comment. You can participate without having a fully developed view.

Distinguish facts, personal experience, and conjecture. Preserve context when quoting others and provide a source when known. Do not turn differences in interpretation into judgments about someone's character.

Do not publish other people's contact details, private correspondence, or other information without permission. Advertising, harassment, threats, privacy violations, and repeated flooding may be moderated. Questions about moderation can be sent to the contact email.

AI may help organize material, but must not impersonate real readers or label unconfirmed automatic replies as the author's views. Agreement, disagreement, and likes do not replace assessment of the reasons themselves.

Where can your question go next?

To read the book's questions in full, begin with As AI Grows More Powerful, How Should We Look After Our Own Interests?, Public Argument and Q&A Edition V1.2. It starts from lived situations and requires no prior reading of the theoretical originals.

To ask how the judgment formed, continue with Civilization Leap's Principle of Foundational Direction Calibration: Complete Causal Development and Proposition Formation, Argument Companion Volume V2.1. It preserves initial judgments, shifts in understanding, changed paths, and questions that remain open.

To ask how humanity and future intelligence should relate, continue with A Vision for Human–AGI Relations: From Making Control a Matter of Survival to Shared Unfolding V1.1. It addresses control, autonomy, necessary defense, and continued unfolding.

To place these questions within civilization as a whole, enter the five-volume Civilization Leap work, continuing from human value and institutional direction to enduring civilization and meaning emergence.

The Chinese public edition V1.2 is connected to this source page's full-text and PDF entry points. Exact online addresses for Argument Companion V2.1 and A Vision for Human–AGI Relations V1.1 have not been verified in this update. Search the library for related public works; other pages are not substitutes for those originals.

Let reading lead beyond finishing a book

A book sets out judgments; discussion lets different experiences and reasons genuinely meet. Leaving one specific question also opens part of the path for the next reader.
